Why am i me? Well...
Having been born just as Neil Armstrong made his "first giant leap!" and being at a very excitable age when the first ever colour images of Mars were beamed back to Earth by the Viking space craft. Also, NASA's Voyager craft were well into their astounding "grand Tour" during much of my child hood. All in all, i found the conquest of space the most thrilling adventure a boy could be into!
Being so into space exploration, it was not as great a leap as Niels to imagine why i would want my imagination to take a short cut or two. That being Sci Fi. I am a massive Star wars fan, Star Trek too, and the other star thingy, Stargate! I also like reading Sci Fi literature. Kim Stanley Robinsons Red Mars trilogy, and Ben Bova being among my favourites.
So, you now arrive at this blogs content. Space! Both fact and fiction. In all ways it is thrilling, and awe inspiring, whether it be real life stunning images from NASA/JPL or from the brilliant minds of Sci Fi creators.
Your feet may be firmly on "This Island Earth" but we can look up, and look forward and see wonderous views and vistas today, with our own eyes, and our minds eyes.
